This lead climbing competition is designed to be a fun and relaxed competition which is open to young competitors born before 1st January 1999.
 The Open Youth Competition is open to anyone who is eligible to compete for Great Britain (i.e. holds a GB passport). Others may be invited at the discretion of the BMC.

Team managers will be looking at perfomances in this event as it will be used as part of the continuing monitoring process for the GB Climbing Team.  Consequently, results will be considered, and will count, when selection for next year's GB team is is made in November.

Saturday: registration/warm up opens: 8am, closes: 9am. Climbing starts 10:00am.

The event will include two qualifying rounds and a final and will be lead climbing only.

Competitors will compete in the international competition climbing categories according to the year they were born in. 

These are as follows:
Youth C - born in 1998 or 1997
Youth B - born in 1996 or 1995
Youth A - born in 1994 or 1993
Juniors - born in 1992 or 1991

Event vests will not be provided.

The British Junior Climbing Team is supported by the BMC, plus many UK walls support the British Climbing Team through free or subsidised entry.
