Visit to Avertical World in Dundee 30/12/17

Pippa, I'm just testing, will endeavor to copy relevant previous posts over to here.

It was a a typical dreich morning in Dundee as the fresh faced children and rather bleary eyed adults arrived at Avertical World in Dundee, an old church converted, extremely well , into an indoor climbing facility

Glen Nevis Weekend

We had a great weekend in Glen Nevis mainly based at Polldudh area.  Activities included bouldering, multi pitch and trad climbing.  Everyone had a great time both during the day when climbing and in the evening as most stayed at the same campsite.  We were supported throughout by EICA Ratho instructors.

First outdoor event at Kirriemuir

On 1st of May, we headed to Kirriemuir for our first outdoor meet of the year.  We had a large turnout and everyone enjoyed the day.  Everyone had a great time getting lots of routes ticked.  We again had EICA Ratho coaches in attendance.

Change of officebearers

David Dundas has been replaced as Membership Secretary by Andrew Fall and can we welcome Ian Flockhart to the Committee:

Quickdraws at Avertical World Dundee

Quickdraws first trip for 2015 was a familiarisation trip to Avertical World in Dundee ahead of the second round of the Youth Climbing Series later this month. Alan and Dorothy Millar took these photos of club members (and some parents!) getting stuck in to the routes and the new bouldering room.

Navigation in the Pentland Hills

Thanks to Dave Brown and Alan Millar for these photos of the Quickdraws Navigation Day in the Pentlands with Glenn and Martin, preceded by a classroom session at Ratho where Glenn introduced us to Mount Lemon and Ratho Island.

At Home at EICA:Ratho

We didn't bring a camera to our day at Ratho recently which is a pity because the 16 Quickdraw Climbers and their families made for a busy day in the arena. Our older members, Jodie, Keira and Kirsten were on hand to lead a group warm up and to mentor younger climbers throughout the day. We mixed things up a bit so that people climbed with different partners, some new, some familiar.

Quickdraws at Kirrie

Kirriemuir was kind to Quickdraws once again with fair weather for our September trip to Angus. Thanks to Mark Davidson for these photos of everybody hard at work at this, one of Quickdraws favourite venues. After a warm up led by Jodie everyone got stuck in to the climbing. (There are more photos over on the Facebook page)
