Scottish Youth Bouldering Championships 2011

Saturday 24th September at Transition Extreme, Aberdeen

MCofS is now pleased to support and endorse the Scottish Youth Bouldering Championship as a National Event.

Climbing Format:
The SYBC is operated on a quite different format to the YCS, although the age categories are the same as follows:

Sport climbing makes 2013 shortlist for 2020 Olympics

Closer to our dreams

On July 4, 2011 the IOC Executive Board announced the sports shortlisted for the 2020 Olympic Games. The announcement was made ahead of the 123rd IOC session in Durban, South Africa.

The sports included are: baseball, karate, roller sports, softball, sports climbing, squash, wakeboard and wushu, one of which could be added to the 2020 summer sports program.

YCS Finals Prep for Parents

Neil McGeachy is running a YCS Finals prep day for climbers at Transistion Exteme on 18th June.

In lieu of a prep day for parents here are some tips:-

1.       Set the lat/long of the climbing wall in your sat nav not the postcode.  Check on Google Earth so you know what it looks like and the most direct route from where you are staying.

2.       check your kid’s bag even if they say they have everything with them.

Imst Colours Competition - 11/12 June 2011

Best of luck to William, Angus and Gabriella as they head off to compete in the Imst Colours Festival this weekend.  Have a great time and make sure your parents stay out of trouble.

EGM Saturday 4th June 2011

Following a vote by 42 members of the Club, George Whyte, with 23 votes was appointed the new Chair of Quickdraw Climbing Club.
